❖Doamin : a private homepage address (URL) on internet, which expressing computer address on internet composed of numbers (IP address system) with easy characters (combination of dot(.), letters, numbers and symbols).
※ Domain is a unique name of verifying a site accessing on internet
•Registration : registration of domain name and registration information to the company or registered business operator database by paying registration fee.
- Registered business operator : a person who takes the whole charge of registration business for each domain type, and makes domain names exist by operating route name servers for each domain name.
•ICANN(Internet Corporation For Assigned Names and Numbers) : a nonprofit organization responsible for managing internet address system and controlling internet domain management, policy decision, etc.
- targets : gTLDs, ccTLDs, IDNs, etc.
•Registrar : an organization or commercial entity that manages the registration of Internet domain names by authorized from ICANN.
※ The registration of Korean Domain name, .KR, is registered by the domain registrar authorized from Korea Internet and Security Agency (KISA).
•Top Level Domain (TLD) : one of the domains at the highest level in the hierarchical Domain Name System of the Internet
•gTLD : refers to Generic Top Level Domain, and it uses general character string unlike ccTLD, which refers to country.
- gTLDs HydraDNS provides : .com, .net, .org, .biz, .info, .name, .mobi, etc.
•ccTLD : refers to Country Code Top Level Domain, and it is a two-letter Internet top-level domains specifically designated for a particular country, sovereign state or autonomous territory for use to service their community.
- ccTLDs HydraDNS provides : .co, .tv, .cc, .in, .sx, etc.
•Privacy Protection : a service that when you search a domain name (Whois Lookup), the actual domain name owner’s registration information is hidden and company’s information is shown instead.
- Registration Information : an information of Registrant, Administrative, Technical, Billing, Name Servers, etc.
•Domain Name Transfer : a service of transferring domain name registered in different registrar into HydraDNS or transferring a domain name registered in HydraDNS to different registrar.
•Domain Name Transfer Lock : a feature of setting not to allow transfer of a domain name registered in HydraDNS.
•Domain Name Move : a service of moving a domain name registered in HydraDNS account to another HydraDNS account (move between HdyraDNS accounts).
- Transferor : a person who giving the domain name’s ownership
- Transferee : a person who receiving the domain name’s ownership
•Domain Name Parking : a temporary web page provided when normal homepage cannot be served for certain period of time after domain registration.
❖DNS(연결) : refers to Domain Name System, which converting address with English letters and numbers to Internet Protocol (IP) composed of numbers. In other words, DNS converts a domain name to IP address system.
•Name Server : a server that manages database including a domain name and the corresponding address number on internet (Name Servers must be registered when registering a domain name).
•Record : a saved format of name and address information for using DNS service.
•Host : a system connected to Internet and having private IP address. It communicates with using TCP/IP protocol.
•Basic : a DNS service automatically provided when registering domain name.
•Standard : a service that provides one DNS connect to one domain name.
•Professional : a service that provides more than one domain name connects to one DNS service.
•Professional Option : domains and records additionally provided to Professional users
❖Payment : payment action to use a product
•Coin : a payment method on Internet to use HydraDNS’s paid services. It is used when customers purchase HydraDNS services or HydraDNS needs to return refund amount to customer as credit due to use contract termination of purchased service.
•Coupon : a payment method on Internet, which HydraDNS set in its sole discretion to apply certain amount or ratio of discount when purchasing service. It has no property value.
•Refund : a returning back certain amount into coins due to termination of use contract for purchased service; or a returning back the whole coins in account to actual money through the payment method recently used (e.g. credit card); or a returning back the whole coins in account to cash through bank account transfer.
•VAT : 10% tax charged to users who use KRW currency
•Fees : the charges to pay to PG company when paying with credit card and to bank when using bank account transfer (fees are different by each PG company and bank).
❖Terminologies related with providing service
•Renewal : expand the purchased service’s expiry date by the user’s request.
•Restoration : restore a deleted domain name after the Renewal Grace Period.
•Connect DNS : register a domain name to Professional service.
•Connect Product : change and register Standard DNS product to Professional DNS product.
•Adjust Service Period : an action to adjust the period of using DNS service. It can be adjusted within the range not exceeds the domain name expiry date.
•Delete : a cancellation of service use, and a delete of the related information forever.
- Delete Domain Name : delete registered domain name.
- Delete Service : delete a service in use and the subordinated option.
- Delete NS : disconnect between a domain name and the DNS (service will be deleted in case of Standard)
•Money Back Grace Period : a period that can get refund the amount paid when deleting a service within certain period of time after registration.
